About
Williams Elementary

Williams Elementary is home to 707 students, grades K-5. We host 103 of staff from teachers to admin to support staff.

At the heart of Williams Elementary School is our belief that the time spent inside the classroom is not only about learning, but about growing the whole child.  We have the privilege of raising the future leaders of society and in order to do that, we look at all the possibilities that a child is capable of experiencing, not just the ones on paper. We take the time to form relationships with our students.  We know that students who feel loved, valued, and appreciated are more ready to learn and take on the tasks of the day.  The bonds that form in the classroom are certainly memories that will last a lifetime.  We strive everyday to make the most of each and every opportunity given to us.

Academics is the basis of any school setting.  Our competency-based education system meets students where they are.  This system allows students to acquire knowledge and skills at their own pace and demonstrate their understanding through assessments and evaluations that align with specific competencies or learning objectives.

Everyone has genius! If you give a child the opportunity to show you theirs, you may be surprised to discover what they feel their strength is.  Some children immediately know what their passion is.  Some friends need a little help along their journey to greatness.  The amazing thing is that we get to walk alongside our students as they walk down that path and they discover someone they may never have met.

Leader in Me has given our families the tools to use to help guide our children.  By teaching them the importance of the Habits in their academics as well as their lives outside our walls, we are setting them up for a lifetime of success! These skills and life lessons they are learning with us each and every day are systems and foundations that will take them through their adult life.

Mission

Developing Leaders. Serving Others. Empowering Learning.

The Mission Statement at Williams Elementary School was developed with our future leaders in mind. These statements reflect our student's aspirations, values, and motivations for their educational journey. Crafting a school’s mission statement can help students stay focused, motivated, and accountable throughout their academic pursuits. We believe that our statement is all encompassing and encouraging to staff, students, parents, and community members alike.

Meet the Team

William Elementary School’s Lighthouse Team is composed of 8 students and 2 faculty. They meet 2-3 times a month to discuss varying topics and projects.

Last year, the team worked on school beautification and signage.  The team also worked on some seating for a common area that needed some updating.  Both projects were something that the entire school benefited from.  They learned how to listen to student voice and choice, make plans, deal with a budget, handle shipping costs, deal with delayed shipping and arrival dates and other aspects of a project.  They had a great time with the project and look forward to planning this year’s project.
