In addition to providing direct lessons during our daily DEN time, staff work intentionally to embed the practices and principles of the 7 Habits in our instructional content, behaviors, and daily routines. Staff and students work together to develop class mission statements and students serve leadership roles in classrooms throughout the school. In classes such as STEAM, students are asked to reflect on how they practiced one of the 7 Habits each week. As a building, we are working to incorporate the workshop model in more of our classes. A major component of this is teaching our students how to work collaboratively. Our teaming structure also provides staff a daily opportunity to collaborate to continuously improve lessons.
Our building works hard to not only teach students the curriculum but to help all students have opportunities that allow them to think beyond the classroom and discover connections and applications to the world around them.
