In the beginning it was very challenging for us to have a school-wide WIG that was developmentally appropriate. However, we have worked hard over the past couple of years to now incorporate a school-wide WIG that follows the “From X to Y by When” format, along with a tracking system within the classroom that transfers to the school-wide WIG Scoreboards.
Our school-wide WIGs for the 23-24 school year are as follows:
Our first goal is to encourage book enjoyment and knowledge. Franklin Preschool students will read 0 books to 3500 books by October 31st, 2023. Our hope is to continue to increase the amount of books read each trimester.
Our second goal is to encourage rote counting. 80% of Franklin Preschool students will increase rote counting abilities by 10 intervals from where they began counting at the beginning of the year to where they were able to count by the end of the 23-24 school year. For example, Tobias will rote count from 0 to 10 by the end of 23-24 school year. To track this goal we will be using a color-coded bulletin board system in order to see how much progress each student has made throughout the school year.
