1.3 - Family and Community Partnerships

Williams Elementary School strives to strengthen family and community partnerships through both events scheduled throughout the year and every day classroom opportunities and communications. Examples include:

• Parent academy offered at different times of day throughout the year.

• LiM focused Monthly Parent Newsletters.

• “Celebrity” Readers-Parents come as special guest to read to class.

• Community 5K-PTO Planned and Funded Community Event.

• Family mission statement writing help-session during parent teacher conferences.

• Family Nights

Parents are encouraged to give feedback after family events to assist in better planning. This allows us to address the needs of our community.

During student-led conferences, some students developed their WIGs and lead measures with their teachers AND parents/guardians. This allows parents to be more involved in their child’s academic goals!
