Student Voice looks differently at Franklin. Like many aspects of Leader in Me, we have to keep in mind what is developmentally appropriate. Students get to vote on school-wide WIG rewards, classroom rewards, learning units, and service learning projects.
Students at Franklin were taught lessons on what the word “mission” means and from there each classroom created their own classroom mission statements. These statements were posted inside and outside of the classrooms and were reviewed daily. Keeping developmentally appropriate practices in mind, classroom mission statements were the main focus over personal mission statements.
