6.3 - Empowering Instruction

The school year begins with the First 8 Days, a time for the whole school to learn and reflect on the 7 habits. Coaches support teachers with resources for these lessons, and many staff members use the 7 Habits to build relationships with students. Students lead their own learning and practice self management using student-facing work plans while teachers use proficiency scales to meet each student where they are at.

Students lead their learning during community meetings in which they discuss, choose, and track class goals and progress.
