3.3 Leadership Events

At Franklin Preschool, we have many events that include developmentally appropriate leadership roles for preschool students and their families. Students can choose what leadership role they would like to have at family night events such as: greeter, sign in assistant, snack helper, master of ceremonies, tour guide, door holder, etc. On our monthly learning walks, students have an opportunity to lead by showcasing their leadership notebooks and our school. Students lead our annual Veteran’s Day Parade to help honor our families veterans. Students are celebrated for reaching certain milestones within their individual goals, such as classroom and school-wide celebrations. Also, during Parent-Teacher Conferences, students run their own conference by showcasing their leadership portfolios to their parents. Through the Parent Advisory Committee the parents help plan many events at our school such as: Halloween Trunk or Treat, Community Partner Event night, teacher appreciation week, graduation night, etc. At Parent Advisory Committee meetings, parents are encouraged to reflect on events and look for ways to improve events in the future.
