Through the years, we have worked to put systems in place to support individual goal development and attainment. The process of the 4 Disciplines of Execution is explicitly taught and practiced during our morning DEN time. This structure equips students to set and achieve their goals. At the beginning of each school year, our Math and ELA teachers support students in using data to develop individual academic WIGs that are aligned with our classroom/school-wide WIGs. Teachers also support students in identifying the specific lead measures they will carry out to achieve their WIG.
To ensure a regular cadence of accountability, we restructured our advisory time to provide more time for students to engage in the 4DX process. This year, students will have the opportunity to meet with their peer accountability partner, as they monitor and scoreboard their progress toward their WIGs, and celebrate goal progress, every Friday. WIG attainment is recognized and celebrated throughout the building.
